1525491 Smoothing sheets J M JENSEN 26 Aug 1975 [4 Sept 1974] 35147/75 Heading B8R [Also in Division D1] Laundry sheets are spread out in front of an endless belt conveyer 1 by pairs of relatively separable clamps, e.g. 8, 9, and are then released and pushed on to the conveyer 1 by horizontally pivotable blades 33, 34. The two corners of one edge of a sheet are manually placed in the clamps which automatically close. Upon actuation of a switch, clamps 8, 9 move rightwards along track 6 to a centre position, and then in opposite directions to spread the sheet. A photocell senses completion of spread out, releases the clamps and actuates the blades. Other clamps for a second sheet are provided. Nip belts 35, 36 facilitate spreading.

(I) The condition for feeding iron to the ironing industry The invention relates to light industry, in particular, to devices for supplying linen to an ironing machine. A device is known for the transfer of linen into an ironing machine, comprising two parallel guides mounted on the base, located above the conveyor belt, spring-loaded clamps arranged in pairs on the guides, and means for opening and moving the clamps along the guides. A disadvantage of the known device is the complexity of the construction, a number of multiple overations require synchronization, and other operations must be coordinated in order to evenly distribute the load at the feed posts, and therefore, the known device is not sufficiently convenient to maintain. The purpose of the invention is to provide ease of maintenance of the device for feeding the linen to the ironing machine. This goal is achieved by the fact that the device for feeding the linen to the ironing machine contains two parallel guides mounted above the base, which are located above the conveyor belt, have the spring-loaded MACHINE MACHINES arranged in pairs on the guides, and the means for opening and moving the clamps along the guides, is beating for spreading and feeding the linen to the conveyor, which is simulated on the ground and located above the conveyor, and additional. two pairs of clamps, and the length of the guides exceeds the width of the conveyor on both sides by the amount required to arrange two pairs of clamps, each pair of clamps located on one of the ends of the guides and connected to an individual means for moving them, and two pairs of clamps are implemented in the form of a cable block system. FIG. 1 shows a general view of the device for feeding the linen to the ironing machine; in fig. 2 - section of the device along the center line; FIG. 3. A cable-carrying system for transferring each pair of clamps. The device comprises a conveyor 1 with two drums 2 and 3 around which a series of parallel ribbons rotate. Transporter I is located in front of the ironer so that parts of the laundry transferred to conveyor 1 are fed

in the ironing machine. At the front end of the conveyor 1, there are two columns 4 and 5, carrying two parallel guides 6 and 7, arranged parallel to the drum 3 and above it and in front of the conveyor. The guides are somewhat longer than the conveyor bars and protrude beyond the columns on both sides. On each of the guides 6 and 7, two pairs of clips 8, 9 and 10, 11 are movably mounted on the guide 6 and the other clips on the guide 7.
Each clamp contains frames 13 and 14 and has a slot 15 mounted on a carriage 16, on which a pair of spring-loaded gripping fingers 17 are installed, located in the slot 15. Above the guides 6, 7 there is a means of 18 dp moving the clamps along the guides.
The means for moving each pair of clamps consists of two pneumatic cylinders 19 and 20, moving clamps 9 and 8, respectively, and a cable block system. The cable and block system contains eight groups of ipsives 21, four groups of which 22, 23, 24, 25 are fixed and others
Four groups 26, 27, 28, 29 - movably. Groups 26 and 27 are mounted on the first sliding beam 30, and the remaining groups 28 and 29 are mounted on the second sliding beam 31. Fixed to the sliding beam 30 of the loop of the cable 32 connect one cable to clip 9, and the loop goes through another row of shchikov 33 installed mobility. The other clamp 8 is connected to the loop of the cable 34, passing along the tongues 24, 25, 28, 2 and the guide sheave 35 fixedly mounted, with the loop of the cable 32 having an intersection at point 36, causing the movement of both sliding bars each other forces both clips to move along the guide in the same direction. The same means of forward movement are also suitable for every other pair of clamps. For transporting the laundry, after it has been straightened, there is a beater 37 on the conveyor. Bilo 37 contains two telescopic parts 38 and 39, supported by pivot arms 40 and 41, pivoting around vertical axes 42 and 43.
In front of the conveyor 1, there are two belts 44, 45J exerting a straightening
impact on objects belled in front of the conveyor. The outer sides of these ribbons move in the direction towards the center of the conveyor, facilitating the alignment of the objects before unfolding.
The device works as follows.
The operator inserts the two corners of the item in the appropriate clamps, and the item in the item. held there until means
for opening the clips will not open the clips. When the operator inserts the two corners of the object into the clamps, he turns on the device. At this point, both air cylinders 19 and 20 are activated. Both slider bars 30 and 31 approach one another as the clips 8 and 9 run side by side along guide 6 in front of conveyor I. When a predetermined position is reached, the centerline of the conveyor belt, slider bars are in contact with the push rod 46 and cannot further approach each other.
Now cylinder 19, driving clamp 8,. turns off, while the other cylinder 20 driving the clamp 9 is still working. Now the sliding bar 30 pushes the other sliding bar 31 by means of the pushers, whereby both the carriages of the clips 8 and 9 move in one direction from one another. This movement continues until the edge behind which the object of the laundry has been fully extended in the clamps. The force that stretches the edge of the item can be controlled, for example, by adjusting: the air pressure in the pneumatic system. After the article has been fully stretched, means are released to release the clamps, and the pneumatic cylinders return to their original positions, and with them the clamps 8 and 9.
Since a complete cable-blocking mechanism is intended for each pair of clamps, the subsequent cycle of expansion with the help of another pair of clamps can begin its movement in the direction toward the center, -t. e. before the first pair returns to its original position. When the item of linen is straightened in front of the conveyor 1, it is moved to the conveyor by the edge with which it is illuminated, which is used as a guide edge. This is accomplished by means of a ball 37 moving between the guide and the upper part of the conveyor. The beat and means for opening the clamps are mechanically connected so that the clamps open precisely when the beat touches the hanging and straightened part of the laundry. Then the beater transferred the item to the trailer, simultaneously spreading it and straightening it on the conveyor belt. The movement of the beat is fast, since the transfer of the item to be washed must be faster than the speed of the conveyor. The ball must be returned more than the next item will be centered and straightened in front of the conveyor.
